A season of music, art and culture that already counts over sixty events this year alone: and that will not stop even in the coming weekend at the Cousinà Late Show in Cagliari , in Corso Vittorio Emanuele 178. After hosting the only date in the capital yesterday for the American Lori Goldston , the program will continue on Friday with the trio Desueti – and special guest Ale Rizzu – and on Saturday with the punk revival of The Hurricanes , on stage from 10 pm both evenings.
Two new dates in collaboration with Bohemien Eventi , the first of which will feature a deep dive into the great classics of British music from the 1960s : ranging from Small Faces, The Kinks, The Who, and Jam, the trio will bring all their "beatnik" passion to the stage, with a repertoire in both Italian and English, suitable for both newcomers and enthusiasts . Three friends united by past experience in historic local bands such as Banglovebeat , Emotionz , and Uninvited , will bring a fourth longtime acquaintance to the Cousinà stage on Friday, with Ale Rizzu joining them for five songs on the setlist.
The Hurricanes , born in the capital at the dawn of 2021, will instead perform a set of entirely original and unreleased songs. Initially conceived as an acoustic solo project by founder Luca Vacca (vocals and guitar), formerly of the bands Riflesso and Dreaming23 , they became a band when the latter chose an electric tack for the songs written and recorded during the pandemic lockdown. He is joined by Elena Cabitza (bass) from Who Killed Marilyn?, Riflesso's partner Riccardo Besia (guitar), formerly of The Colvins , from which Alessio Schirru (drums) also arrives.
Drawing inspiration from the American punk revival of the 1990s – in iconic groups such as Alkaline Trio, Gaslight Anthem, Against Me! and Red City Radio – with personal, introspective lyrics suspended between reality and dream in settings in Cagliari, the beating heart of the lyrical side , the quartet made their debut with the album " Ghostwriting " (2023). Nine tracks with a punk rock and alternative flavour, preceded by the two singles " St. Lawrence Night " and " Calamosca Lighthouse ".
