A costly punch. Former Rossoblu player Andrea Cossu was ordered by a Justice of the Peace to compensate a steward he punched in the face at the end of the 2022 Venezia-Cagliari match, which ended 0-0 and cost the Sardinians relegation to Serie B.

According to the reconstruction contained in the ruling signed by Judge Nadia Santambrogio, on May 22nd four years ago, after the match, the security guard, while outside the Penzo stadium, expressed satisfaction with Cagliari's draw because it effectively secured Salernitana's safety. At that moment, he was approached by Cossu, who, after threatening him, punched him in the right cheek.

Cossu was sentenced to pay a fine of two thousand euros in addition to the immediate payment of a provisional sum of fifteen thousand euros.

For this incident, the police headquarters of the lagoon city imposed a three-year Daspo (ban from attending sporting events) on Cossu.
