A great collector of art objects and antiques, Giovanni Antonio Sanna was fundamental with his bequests both for the creation of the Museum of Sassari, named after him, and for the conspicuous donation of paintings to the National Art Gallery in Piazza Santa Caterina. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the death of the entrepreneur, politician and patron, the “GA Sanna” Museum has organized an initiative entitled “A ticket, two places of culture” and created a logo that will accompany all the initiatives related to the theme planned during 2025.
In the period between 1st and 28th February 2025, users who have visited one of the two museums, between the Sanna Museum of Sassari and the Pinacoteca of Sassari, will be entitled to free entry to the second, by presenting the entrance ticket purchased in the other Museum.
His collections donated to his hometown were fundamental for the construction of the identity and the recovery of the historical memory of the territory, as well as for the foundation of a museum. A part of his will is reported on the facade of the museum named after him.
