He graduated from the Faculty of Law and was self-taught as an artist, but his thirst for knowledge led him to express himself not only in painting and graphics but also in exhibition design and publishing. Sassari native Agostino Oppo (1939-2015) is a figure deserving of rediscovery. His children have created a substantial digital archive named after their father, containing over 580 files, photographs, documents, and testimonies.

A painstaking effort to reconstruct the work and career of Agostino Oppo: a painter, designer, and teacher from Sassari, active since the 1960s in painting, graphics, design, and social engagement. His works are now held in public collections in Sardinia.

Oppo defined his work as a journey that begins with observational data and leads to a complete reworking of compositional elements, culminating in an autonomous work. His abstraction thus arises from transformation: figure, landscape, object, and architecture are deconstructed and reconstructed through rhythm, backgrounds, signs, and material.

Many other works are scattered throughout private homes, which is why there is a section on the site that allows you to report them in order to fully reconstruct the artist's career.
