UEFA reiterates its boycott of Gianni Infantino's FIFA. An official statement reads that "the loss of confidence in Gianni Infantino's presidency remains unchanged," as "the proposals to privatize the main competitions have not been withdrawn" and no guarantees have been given that "attempts to distort the game in this way will not be repeated."

Therefore, "yesterday's announcement that some people employed by the FIFA president are in agreement with him changes nothing," UEFA concluded.

For his part, Infantino assures his collaborators that he has no intention of leaving FIFA, but his repeated apologies regarding the World Cup privatization scheme do not seem to be enough for UEFA.

The casus belli between the World Football Federation and the European Football Federation is the plan to open the World Cup and other competitions to private investors through a specially created company, FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE). But despite the lack of confidence, Infantino, according to British media reports, assured his closest aides that he had no intention of giving in to demands for his resignation.
