The "Libburus e Contus" literary festival continues with its third installment, featuring writer Ivo Murgia, who for over twenty years has been committed to studying and promoting the Sardinian language and culture through collaborations with public bodies, universities, the media, and numerous cultural organizations.
The meeting will focus on the presentation of his latest travel book, The Bridge of Mostar, a work that takes the reader on a discovery of the Balkans, crossing five countries: Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia. These diverse territories are linked by a common history, often complex and marked by conflict, but also by experiences of peaceful coexistence and dialogue between different religions.
In the author's narrative, the Balkans emerge as a true meeting point between East and West, Europe and Asia, Christianity and Islam: a cultural mosaic rich in traditions and identities, embellished with evocative natural landscapes and a great variety of peoples and cultures.
The volume also represents an important milestone in Murgia's publishing career, celebrating his ten-year collaboration with the Cenacolo di Ares: ten books published in ten years, seven of which are dedicated to the theme of travel as a cultural and human experience.
The evening will be hosted by Barbara Cabras, Mauro Dadea, and Luca Tolu, while musical accompaniment will be provided by Renato Floris, creating a dialogue between literature and music that will further enrich the event.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 21st at 5:30 PM at the EXO Cultural Center, in Piazza Maria Carta in Poggio dei Pini. This is an opportunity open to the public to embark on a cultural journey into the heart of the Balkans through words and stories.
