Inauguration this evening, at the Cineteatro of Olbia (at 9 pm), for the 2022-2023 season of the Great Prose, Dance and Contemporary Circus organized by CeDAC Sardinia.

« Chiara Francini - explains the Councilor for Culture of Olbia, Sabrina Serra - the awaited protagonist of today , with "A girl like me": the pièce co-written with Nicola Borghesi, also author of the direction, and interpreted by the multifaceted and extraordinary actress, writer and television presenter, the theater program opens in the city full of exceptionally prestigious performers for an increasingly numerous audience of enthusiasts».

An original and engaging "one-woman-show" in which the artist tells her story, retracing the fundamental phases of her life, unique, yet so similar to that of many others: her childhood in the village, the grandparents with whom she grew up , the matriarchal family, adolescence, public housing, parents always at work, a world of courtyards, of windows that overlook real life, the path of a healthy and stubborn provincial girl, today's fought and very strong desire to want becoming a mother is the pride of being now and always different, strange, out of place, inadequate, upstart.

Under the spotlight Chiara Francini, on the evocative soundtrack performed live by Francesco Laineri , with electronics and toy instruments, talks about herself and the dreams of a generation born after the cultural and social "revolution" of the Sixties, between the age of games and innocence and self-awareness, of one's rights and aspirations, individual and collective, in the midst of the civilization of appearances and the explosion of social media at the beginning of the 21st century.

A refined and compelling performance , almost an "in public" diary translated with intelligence and wit, in which the author of successful novels, from the best seller "Don't talk with your mouth full" (Rizzoli, 2017) to "My mother he doesn't have to know” (Rizzoli, 2018), “A happy year” (Rizzoli, 2019) and “The starry sky purrs” (Rizzoli, 2020), tells a story that is both singular and exemplary .

But Chiara Francini is not only a highly successful writer with a multigenerational following, her career has crossed varied universes starting from TV: host of programs such as "Love me gender" and "Love me stranger", up to "Drag Race Italia ”, former testimonial – among others – of Dolce & Gabbana, but above all an interpreter of theater and cinema, trained with Barbara Nativi at the Teatro della Limonaia in Sesto Fiorentino, between “Noccioline” by Fausto Paravidino and “The painter of Madonnas”, for then range between Shakespeare and contemporary drama, also participating in "Faccia da comedian" at the Ambra Jovinelli in Rome with the artistic direction of Serena Dandini, and the big screen with a filmography that includes, between short and feature films, over 30 titles with extraordinary directors such as Carlo and Enrico Vanzina, Luca Miniero, Leonardo Pieraccioni and many other prestigious ones.

Chiara Francini with "A girl like me", after yesterday's premiere in Alghero, will be on tour again tomorrow at 9pm at the Teatro del Carmine in Tempio Pausania and finally on Saturday 3 December at 9pm, non-subscription, at the Central Theater in Carbonia .
