After a year and a half under Secretary Michele Ennas, elected in January 2025 after a period of special administration, the League in Sardinia has returned to power with a commissioner: Alberto Di Rubba . He was appointed by Federal Secretary Matteo Salvini, who also granted him powers over the regional Board of Directors, "with the aim of further strengthening the party's presence and action on the island."
The appointment was officially presented today during the Lega Sardegna regional board meeting, attended by Deputy Federal Secretary Claudio Durigon. "The appointment of Alberto Di Rubba represents a decision shared with Michele Ennas, who offers Sardinia a figure with extensive political experience," Durigon said in a statement. "I also take this opportunity to thank Michele Ennas for his commitment, dedication, and excellent work leading the movement in Sardinia, which he will continue alongside Di Rubba."
"I personally asked the federal secretariat for support to best address the League's upcoming political and organizational challenges in Sardinia," Ennas explains. "I'm certain that Alberto Di Rubba is the right person to lead this new phase of the movement."
"I want to thank Matteo Salvini for his trust in me and Claudio Durigon for his unwavering support," Di Rubba stated. "I take on this role with a great sense of responsibility, aware of the importance Sardinia has for the League and the quality of the work we've done so far. The goal is to consolidate the movement's growth, further strengthen its presence in the region, and continue, together with Ennas and all its activists, to provide concrete solutions to the needs of Sardinian citizens."
