The initial approval has been given for a three-year budget adjustment of €750 million, partly earmarked for healthcare, but also for measures to combat depopulation and attract investment to the island.

The Council approved the bill at the end of a very long session.

The text will now be forwarded to the Regional Council's Budget Committee. During this second phase, if not directly in the Chamber, a series of amendments will be prepared to address the high fuel prices and the most pressing healthcare system issues highlighted yesterday by the Democratic Party (which requested an allocation of €100 million to address them).

It should be remembered that the 750 million euros are resources that the Region can use thanks to the positive outcome of the revenue dispute with the State.
