105 Years of the Psd'Az: The Future: Choosing Between Left and Right
Celebrations for the anniversary in Oristano. Solinas: "The congress will decide."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The Psd'Az restarts from where it all began 105 years ago: Oristano, Piazza Eleonora. In the beautiful building built by the Conventual Piarist Fathers, which later passed to the Justice Department and is now the seat of the Municipality. In the Hall of the Evangelists, 105 years ago Camillo Bellieni organized the veterans' movement and during the works of the The regional congress held in Eleonora's home announced the birth of the Sardinian Action Party. The commemorative plaque unveiled by former Regional President Christian Solinas and party president Antonio Moro, mounted at the entrance to the council chamber, commemorates the historic event with a quote from Bellieni: "1921-2021. For the United States of Europe, we have raised the banner of the Four Moors against the impetuous Tyrrhenian Sea. While awaiting the arrival of the good Mediterranean civilization, we still want to feel the ancient heart of our Sardinia."
At the usual crossroads
The idea is the same, the path ahead is challenging, and above all, it remains to be seen how to proceed to get where: to the right or the left? "These are decisions that the extraordinary congress will make, clear and shared choices. Today marks our 105th anniversary, but this day of celebration also serves to confirm that, starting from our still-firm historical roots, we can—indeed, we must—plan for the future to face it with the determination and strength that today's times require," anticipates Secretary Christian Solinas between greetings and embraces in a room in the town hall too small to accommodate the faithful who have arrived from all over. Absences are present and noticeable. President Antonio Moro responds to the call. Ready for the extraordinary congress? "The congress will take place, we just need to decide how." There will be work to be done; an agreement between the parties doesn't seem to be around the corner. Many are invited to toast the 105th anniversary, but the elected representatives are reasoning in unison: "Sardisti forever, divisions only hurt," according to Efisio Trincas, longtime leader of the Quattro Mori party. Everything remains to be seen, and there are many issues to discuss. "Is the PSDAz looking left or right?" "The congress will decide," Solinas replies dryly. But is there anything in common with Todde? On wind power, for example. "The fight is right, but we're with Pratobello." Transportation? "The Region must do something more, and it can be done by having more influence and entering the system in the most effective ways. Ours is a party that aspires to full autonomy, and the entire party will come together along this line to tackle new battles."
Historical newspaper
On the 105th anniversary of the noble coffer, the Quattro Mori, after 77 years, rediscover the "Solco" magazine, which resumed publication in Oristano in 1921 after definitively ceasing publication in 1949. Here we go again. "It will travel online and each semester the most important topics will be reported in print. The "Solco," as it has always been in its glorious past, will not deal with current affairs but will address political issues and customs, open to the contributions of our militants," Christian Solinas previewed. The evening was enriched by Domenico Gallus, provincial councilor, who launched a call for unity, and by the contributions of Colonel Lino Orecchioni, former director of the Historical Museum of the Sassari Brigade, who recalled the contribution of the Sassari people in the Great War of 1915-18. Then, art historian Maria Dolores Picciau on the role of women in Sardinianism; Valeria Soru, an expert in economic history, and Professor Albero Contu discuss "roots and wings." From its glorious past to its glorious future: the destiny of the PSD'AZ lies there.
