There is also a young Sardinian among the new Alfieri del Lavoro awarded by Sergio Mattarella and the Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti at the Quirinale. With him - in "coupled", as a tradition - also a new Cavaliere del Lavoro , Salvatore Pilloni, entrepreneur from Furtei, administrator of Quattro srl (which is part of the "Saponi e Profumi" shops).
The new Standard Bearer is instead Gianni Bellu, born in 2002, originally from Luras. The prestigious award was given to him for academic merits. In fact, he graduated from the Liceo Dettori in Tempio with full marks and honors and can boast an extraordinary average in mathematics: 9.85. Today he is studying in Pisa, at the State University, enrolled in Mathematics, his great passion.
How did you find out that you were appointed Standard Bearer of Labor?
"I received a sudden phone call. It was a landline phone, with the prefix 06, that of Rome. At first I was tempted not to even answer, I thought of the usual call center. Instead I answered and it was the association of knights of labor, which I gave the good news ”.
How did he feel when he hung up?
"Needless to say: I was very happy".
His parents?
"They were, they are !, in seventh heaven. They accompanied me to Rome. They were unable to enter the Quirinale for the ceremony, due to Covid. They remained out for two hours anxiously waiting".
What did Mattarella tell you?
"I went up on stage and congratulated me and all the other standard bearers and best of luck for the future. But something else struck me in particular ...".
Thing?
"He had a mask, but as he looked at me and the other standard bearers he seemed to be smiling with his eyes."
Are you more proud of the votes obtained or the award received by the president?
“Two immense emotions. But being received at the Quirinale is a joy that is really difficult to explain ”.
Now the university. What would you like to do next?
"My dream is to go back to my high school one day. But as a teacher".
Mathematics is one of the least popular subjects for young people. What advice would you give kids to enjoy it?
"Not to consider mathematics as mere calculation or mere theory. Mathematics can be fun and exciting. Of course, you have to be lucky enough to find the right professors. Also, and above all, for this reason my dream is to be a teacher ".
