To a Nuorese artist the high honor of the Austrian state
Valentina Piredda Sardinia has obtained the decoration of honor of the Republic of Austria for Sciences and Art
Georg Schnetzer, director of the Austrian Culture Forum in Rome, representing the Austrian embassy, will present this morning to the Nuorese artist Valentina Piredda Sardinia the decoration of honor of the Republic of Austria for Sciences and Art.
Recognition awarded to the Nuoro by the President of the Austrian Federal Republic Alexander Van der Bellen for her commitment, which has lasted for 24 years, in the bilateral artistic and cultural exchange between Salzburg and Sardinia. The ceremony will be held today at 11 in the representative room of the Municipality of Nuoro, in front of the mayor Andrea Soddu, the Prime Minister, Sebastian Cocco, and the councilor for Culture Luigi Crisponi.
Born in Nuoro in 1956, Valentina Piredda Sardinia studied philosophy, literature and foreign languages in Pisa, Cagliari and also Salzburg. For twelve years he taught at the University of Salzburg, devoting himself to art, in the fields of literature, painting, photography but also video art and installations. In 1997 he started an artistic exchange between land Salzburg and Sardinia. About 60 exhibitions of Austrian artists in Alghero and Bosa. (f. le .)
