«A disastrous situation», is how the leaders of the group of volunteers define it, 'An archipelago without plastic', which yesterday, with the Municipality of La Maddalena, the National Park Authority and the Coast Guard (which also intervened with the divers of Cagliari), organized the 13th edition of the environmental operation 'Arcipelago No Limits'.

Eight tons of waste were recovered from the seabed of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. The seabed of the island of Spargi, Maddalena and Caprera were affected by the operations. Over a hundred tires, 3 resin boats and dinghies, 7 outboard motors, shopping trolleys, chains, batteries, iron, glass, cans were recovered and then sent to the municipal landfill by the in-house company Maddalena Ambiente. , plastic etc.

«Singular is the discovery in the waters in front of the quay of the former military hospital», write the organizers, where « several laptops, printers and various accessories were recovered. Even at the Moneta pass (between Maddalena and Caprera), a bathtub with cement inside was brought to shore with balloons ."

The operations took place with the collaboration of the Barracellare Company and the local Civil Protection and under the supervision of the patrol boats of the Coast Guard and the Financial Police. The interventions of some private companies and diving companies were important, making their resources available. But the work of the volunteers of "An archipelago without plastic" and of the institutions does not stop here; in fact there is a new cleaning operation planned, scheduled for May 18th.
