There is an air of novelty in Quartu where two historic complexes  that of the former Fornaci Picci and that of the former Capra Distilleries  they are close to a change of look. The two areas, of high historical value for the city and today in a total state of abandonment , will soon be redeveloped, with renovated spaces and new functions. In fact, from their ashes will be created accommodation for "Social Housing" and a center for higher education.

Before the official start , two preliminary consultations will take place in the Municipality, involving the administration and potential investors, ready to get involved. The first is aimed at subjects interested in the design of accommodation intended for "Social Housing" and spaces for public functions and coworking in some areas of the Ex Fornaci Picci . These are interventions that are added to those included in the National Innovative Program for the Quality of Living (PINQuA), financed with PNRR resources, paid by the administration.

The second preliminary consultation concerns the procedure for entrusting the restoration work on the other building where - by resolution - the administration has already started the process to create a higher education center - the " Decentralized University Centre " - of the University of Cagliari.

Both consultations will allow us to gather the elements to launch more effective and targeted award tenders. For Urban Planning Councilor Aldo Vanini «the publication of the market consultations constitutes an important step in the process of redevelopment of these two strategic sectors for the relaunch of the city and its positioning as an attractor of public and private initiatives. The objective is to increasingly make Quartu a place that presents itself as a credible partner of important business entities, including local ones, for the implementation of interventions of great public interest".
