The Italian Academy of Cuisine has announced the fourth edition of the award established in memory of the academic and journalist Gianni Fossati , who was killed on 23 March 2020 by Covid at the Fatebenefratelli in Milan.

The award is reserved for journalists of the printed press (with registration in the register of professionals or publicists or in the register of practitioners), outside the Academy, who have particularly distinguished themselves in the promotion and valorisation of Italian cuisine.
Assignment proposals must be accompanied by a CV, motivation and articles and must be sent exclusively electronically to the Secretariat segreteria@accademia1953.it by 30 June 2024.

A great cooking enthusiast, Fossati enrolled at the Academy in 1991 and was soon appreciated as its manager. Eight years later he joined the presidential council and in 2018, president Paolo Petroni wanted him as deputy vice president.

Fossati will go down in history as a forgotten victim of Covid. In the sense that he was buried in Milan - we read in the news of the time - without his family having been notified of his death.
