Consolidation works completed in the building in Via Colombo in Sassari. About 21 people, eight days ago, were forced to leave the building due to safety problems, and from today they will be able to return to the 12 apartments, 9 owned by AREA and 3 private, affected by the eviction order.

«We are satisfied – declares the regional councilor for Public Works Antonio Piu – within a few days, thanks to the work of the department, of AREA and of all the subjects involved, we have kept our promise to the evacuated people».

The intervention consisted of positioning new steel pillars to replace and integrate the existing ones and shoring up the floors. To carry out the works, high-performance mortars with technologically advanced fibers and components were used, all elements that allow for greater load-bearing capacities than reinforced concrete.

In the next few weeks we will proceed with the definitive consolidation works on the original pillars and attic for an estimated time of approximately 60 days. «The intervention in via Colombo is part of the emergency restoration works - specifies the councilor - but I am preparing a resolution worth 27 million euros for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance interventions dedicated to public residential buildings».
