A thirty-year-old was attacked and savagely beaten in Sassari by a group of unknown men on the night between Thursday and Friday, as he was returning home in the San Paolo district.

According to an initial reconstruction made by the agents of the Flying Squad of the Sassari Police Headquarters, who are investigating the matter, the young man was returning home after spending the evening with friends in a bar. In via Fermi he was surrounded and beaten by several people.

Despite his serious injuries and trauma, the thirty-year-old went home and went to bed. The next morning his partner, seeing him beaten up and in serious condition, asked for 118 to intervene.

The man was transported to the Santissima Annunziata emergency room and then underwent surgery to remove a hematoma from his head.

The thirty-year-old is still hospitalized, his life is not in danger but the prognosis remains reserved. The Flying Squad officers have heard from several people close to the thirty-year-old who was attacked and are examining the images of some video surveillance cameras in the area to try to trace those responsible for the attack.
