Salvatore Deplano, former president of the Province of Nuoro, died yesterday in his Lanusei.

He was 88 years old. Sick for some time, he was admitted a few days ago to the Nostra Signora della Mercede hospital where he died last night.

An unrepentant Democrat, in addition to having led the Province in the Seventies, he was a municipal administrator for a long time and held positions in the party.

The funeral will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon in the cathedral of Santa Maria Maddalena in Lanusei.
