From 15 June to 31 August 2024 the direct air connection between Olbia and Dubai will be active again, operated every Tuesday and Saturday by the airline flydubai of the Emirates group.

The official presentation of the route will take place during the Arabian Travel Market, the most important international fair dedicated to inbound and outbound tourism in the United Arab Emirates, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Center from 6 to 9 May, an event in which the Region will also participate Sardinia.

The event will be attended by the regional councilor for Tourism Franco Cuccureddu together with Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations flydubai, and Mario Garau and Giovanna Loriga, respectively director and deputy commercial director of Aviation and Marketing at Olbia airport.

«It is the first fair in which I participate as a councilor - explains Cuccureddu - and I am confident that it can be an opportunity to approach an interesting new market: I am convinced that the target that we will be able to intercept on this occasion, with the activation of the new route, activated experimentally already last summer, could be particularly important for tourism on our island. The objective is to work as best as possible on our tourism products, which can meet the needs of the Emirati public, in terms of quality and variety . We thank flydubai – adds Cuccureddu – for having planned this direct intercontinental connection and we hope that in the future we can further expand the offer of direct scheduled flights with non-European Union countries, in terms of frequency, destinations and Sardinian airports involved."
