Alpine and Speleological Rescue intervened shortly before 1pm along the old Eastern road, in the Burcei area, to rescue a climber in difficulty .

The man, a 31-year-old Italian resident in the Veronese area, was in the company of three other friends at the base of the wall along the "Due di picche" climbing route when, due to the ground made slippery by the rain, he slipped , causing an injury which prevented him from continuing independently .

The 118 Operations Center immediately activated the helicopter stationed in Cagliari which, due to adverse weather conditions, required support from the teams on the ground. 15 technicians from the Cagliari, Medio Campidano and Ogliastra stations were therefore also activated and immediately went to the site.

Thanks also to the improvement in weather conditions, the air ambulance was able to successfully recover the injured person. At the same time, the teams on the ground reached his companions to lead them back to the cars .

The rescue request was received via the GeoResQ app, the geolocation and forwarding service of rescue requests directly to the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps. Intended for all mountain goers and outdoor sports lovers, the service is active 24 hours a day with an operator who answers calls and who, as soon as he received the alarm, immediately forwarded the coordinates of the injured person to the emergency teams. rescue.
