Sardinia Open, Italians protagonists in the qualifiers
Marco Cecchinato, Francesco Passaro and Andrea Pellegrino will compete tomorrow for access to the main draw of the ATP 175 Challenger in Cagliari
Marco Cecchinato against the Japanese Shintaro Mochizuki, Francesco Passaro against the Dutch Jesper De Jong, Andrea Pellegrino against the Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo and the Canadian Gabriel Diallo against the Bolivian Hugo Dellien. These are the four matches that will decide who will qualify for the Sardinia Open, the ATP 175 Challenger taking place on the clay courts of TC Cagliari.
On his debut, a convincing Cecchinato beat the Japanese Tatsuma Ito 6-0, 6-2. A fairly smooth victory also for Passaro, a double 6-3 to the Austrian Luca Miedler, while Samuele Pieri challenged Pellegrino, before losing 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.
Say hello to the Federico Salomone company. The Tc Terranova representative, wild here after winning the Open on the same courts last week, lost 6-2, 6-4 against the Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo, a member of the host club.
And tomorrow the first matches of the main draw will be played. Among these, the one that will see the Italian Luciano Darderi, credited with the number 8 seed, facing the Argentine Thiago Agustin Tirante stands out.
