On Wednesday 1 May, at 11.30, in the Montevecchio di Guspini mine , on the occasion of Labor Day, "Polvere della Memoria" will be inaugurated, the collective exhibition of Castia Art which combines painting, photography, sculpture and installations to give a glimpse new to the world of mining. The exhibition will be open to visitors until October 30th .

Curated by Cristian Castelnuovo, the works aim to «make visible what is precious still to be extracted» . Not the mineral, but the living matter. What man has done over the years with difficulty, above and below the earth, to build a better reality. «The hope is that places of suffering, but also laboratories of urban and social policies, like Montevecchio, will not be forgotten and can be "spaces of the possible", in balance between past, present and future», we read in a note.

The moving portraits of Giovanni Sesia, the heroic sculptures of Andrea Forges Davanzati, the ironic installations of Davide Volponi, but also the prints and negatives of Castelnuovo will be exhibited. Environments, lifestyles, desires and entertainment were described by Beppe Fumagalli and interpreted by the artists of the Cagliari group Castia: Enrica Badas, Paola Falconi, Francesca Sorrentino, Romeo Pinna, Josto Mura, Alberto Masala, Carlo Cicci Borghi and Carlo Nieddu Arrica.

The 2024 edition includes a special moment, the concert by Beppe Dettori and Raoul Moretti, at 3pm on May 1st .
