Nelle abitazioni che si trovano a a 50-70 metri dal fronte della frana non vengono fatti recuperi. "E' troppo pericoloso anche per gli operatori", dice Francesco Turco, funzionario tecnico dei vigili del fuoco di Caltanissetta. "Le persone chiedono di potere prendere le cose più care che hanno, sono momenti intensi anche per noi - racconta il funzionario - Abbiamo recuperato cani, gatti, pappagalli. Molti hanno la necessità di prendere indumenti, ma anche oggetti per loro preziosi da un punto di vista affettivo come quadri, fotografie di famiglia".
