«The Pope welcomed us with great kindness and left everyone free to express their opinions, ask questions and intervene as they went. He urged us to have the transmission of faith at heart and take care of a situation like that of Sardinia which is often demonized." These are the words of the bishop of Cagliari, Monsignor Baturi, at the end of this morning's meeting - in the Vatican - between the Sardinian bishops and the Pontiff.

The meeting on the occasion of the "ad limina apostolorum" visit of the Sardinian church to Rome , from 8 to 12 April. From tomorrow a series of celebrations is planned in the main basilicas of the capital , from St. Peter's to St. John Lateran, while the Pope's general audience is scheduled for Wednesday.

This morning's dialogue with Bergoglio «was a dialogue of about 1 hour and a half, it lasted a long time and this means that he was interested and we had the opportunity to dialogue with him in a fraternal way», concluded Baturi.
