AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine will be withdrawn worldwide. The pharmaceutical company announced this, explaining that it will proceed with the withdrawal of the marketing authorizations for Vaxzevria in Europe.

The decision was made in light of a "surplus of updated vaccines available".

The Anglo-Swedish company at the end of April admitted for the first time in court documents during legal proceedings in London that its Covid vaccine can cause thrombosis as a rare side effect. The admission could pave the way for multimillion-dollar settlements, according to British media.
