Vandals on the tomb of Enrico Berlinguer, his daughter Bianca: «Cowards, it's not the first time»
The raid 40 years after the death of the historic secretary of the PCIEnrico Berlinguer's tomb vandalized in the Prima Porta cemetery in Rome.
His daughter, the journalist Bianca Berlinguer, reports it, posting photos of the destroyed vases on social media: «In the forty years since dad's death – she writes – his tomb has always been full of flowers brought by many people who stopped for a thought and a tribute. And this has always been a great comfort for us children."
«In the last month – he continues – the tomb has been vandalized twice by someone (one or more people) : vases destroyed, flowers thrown away and flowerbeds trampled. A cowardly and ignoble act."
An act also condemned by the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein: «Enrico Berlinguer's tomb has been vandalized again. It is a cowardly and ignoble gesture. But it motivates us even more to carry on his memory, 40 years after his passing."
