Policeman stabbed: 7-hour operation and 5 cardiac arrests. The attacker's slew of precedents
The officer's condition is critical but stable. The Moroccan who left him dying has been in Italy illegally since 2002 and has racked up a long series of crimesSeven hours of operation, during which there were five cardiac arrests . This is the ordeal experienced during the night by Christian Di Martino, the 35-year-old police deputy inspector injured last night in Milan , near the Lambrate station, by a 37-year-old irregular Moroccan.
The officer, who intervened because the man was throwing stones at the trains and had hit a 55-year-old woman in the head, was hit by three slashes with a kitchen knife with a 20 cm blade. There were two serious wounds to a kidney and a duodenum, so much so that emergency surgery was necessary at the Niguarda hospital.
During the operation the policeman had five cardiac arrests, forty bags of blood and thirty of plasma were used. He also currently has pulmonary edema. His condition is critical but stable, the prognosis is guarded.
Hasan Hamid , the Moroccan arrested for the attempted murder, was checked and reported just 4 days ago, on May 5, at the Bologna station . On board a train, Italo had harassed passengers and was also in possession of a razor.
The man is well known to law enforcement. From the investigations of the Milan Police Headquarters, he was found to be present in the database with numerous aliases and various precedents: aggravated robbery, theft, personal injury, narcotics, kidnapping, failure to comply with the expulsion order .
From 2013 to 2020 he was detained several times in the prison of Poggioreale in Naples and Ariano Irpino (Avellino). He was arrested and photographed for the first time in Italy on 18 December 2002 in Naples, and since then he has always remained illegal .
The prefect of Naples had adopted two expulsion measures against him in 2004 and 2012, the prefect of Avellino in July 2023 had ordered him to leave Italy within 7 days.
The 37-year-old had never shown signs of being present in the Milanese province and was tracked down and checked mostly in Campania.
