«Beniamino Zuncheddu cares about the fate and rights of all prisoners, so he is very happy that Enrico Forti was able to serve his sentence in Italy and that the institutions did their utmost to help this happen. However, he does not hide his disappointment at having been totally ignored by those same institutions that seem to look more at what happens in foreign courts than at how justice is administered in Italy, and did not notice his full acquittal (for not having committed the crime) after almost 33 years of imprisonment".

Thus Mauro Trogu, the lawyer of the former pastor of Burcei, who spent over thirty years in prison after a life sentence on charges of being the perpetrator of the 1991 Sinnai massacre, a sentence annulled after a long legal battle.

Forti, a 65-year-old from Trentino, has returned to Italy to serve his sentence after 24 years spent in prison in the USA following his life sentence for the murder of Dale Pike. After the first night in Rebibbia, he has now been transferred to the Verona prison.
