Ballots open from 7 am to 11 pm for the elections for the renewal of the 600 seats in Parliament (400 in the Chamber and 200 in the Senate). We only vote today, at the closing the counting of the ballots will begin.

AFFLUENCE - At 7 pm it is in sharp decline in Italy, it is even worse in Sardinia, which has the third lowest figure among the Italian regions, better only in Campania and Calabria. On the island, 40.97% of those entitled to vote voted, compared to 52.48% in the general elections of March 4, 2018. At the national level, the turnout is 51.16% , four years ago it was 58.4 %.

At 12 on the island, the turnout was 15.5% ( HERE THE DATA province by province ), the national figure was instead 19.2% .

THE CHALLENGES IN SARDINIA - Sardinian voters are over 1.3 million ( 50,869,304 Italians entitled) divided into 1,836 sections: they will have to elect 16 parliamentarians ( HERE THE LIST of all 130 candidates ), nine fewer than 25 current. Seven deputies and three senators are chosen by the proportional method and the lists are blocked, without preferences; four deputies and two senators leave the single-member constituencies: whoever gets the most votes wins ( HERE the rules of the ROSATELLUM ).

There are six colleges ( HERE THE LISTS ). For Montecitorio: Sassari-Olbia-Alghero, Nuoro-Oristano-Ogliastra, Sulcis-Medio Campidano and Cagliari Metropolitan City . For Palazzo Madama: southern Sardinia and northern Sardinia .

Among the most interesting challenges: in Cagliari for the Chamber the outgoing deputies Ugo Cappellacci , former president of the Sardinia Region, for the center-right and the dem Andrea Frailis are faced; for the third pole, the regional councilor Franco Stara ; for the 5 Stars in the field Mauro Congiu .

In the Sassari-Olbia college, a challenge between Dario Giagoni , regional councilor of the League, for the center-right, Carla Bassu, constitutionalist, for the center-left, and the outgoing senator of the M5s Mario Perantoni .

In the Senate, in northern Sardinia, outgoing deputy Gavino Manca (center-left) and former president of the Senate Marcello Pera (center-right) compete for seats, as well as Valerio Zoccheddu del Terzo Polo and Marcello Cherchi for the M5s. In southern Sardinia, the regional coordinator of FdI, Antonella Zedda, for the center-right, the former Rector of the University of Cagliari Maria Del Zompo (center-left), the mayor of Assemini Sabrina Licheri for the 5 Stars and the former municipal councilor of Cagliari Claudia Medda for the third pole.
