Life imprisonment for the murder of Fabio Longoni and the attempted murder of Daniele Conigiu: this is the request for conviction solicited by the prosecutor Biagio Mazzeo against the breeder Fabio Fois, who with the shots (at least five) exploded in November 2017 had avenged, according to the investigators, the theft of two donkeys suffered a year earlier.

The indictment lasted just under two hours before the Assize Court of Cagliari (president Giovanni Massidda, alongside Stefania Selis) in the presence of the accused and his defense lawyer Marcello Caddori.

After the public prosecutor, the civil lawyers Bruno Pilia (he asked for the payment of 150 thousand euros, 50 thousand of which as a provisional), Paolo Pilia and Marzia Graziano began to speak. According to the accusations, the accused had stationed himself on a higher point than the road that led to the sheepfold in the locality of Santa Lucia between Girasole and Villagrande Strisaili and had fired several shots at the car in which the victims were.

Longoni and Conigiu, injured, had escaped but only the second had managed to escape and a few months ago, in the Court, he indicated Fois as responsible. A few days before the attack, Alessio Mura, a former employee of the funeral agency of Conigiu's sister, was revealed to the investigators the possible motive (the theft of the cattle), in turn very resentful towards the woman (who had fired) and Longoni, accused of stealing his job. Reason why it had been checked (also investigated for aiding and abetting), to no avail.
