Same measure also for the other person under investigation, a woman residing in Vimercate, Monza.
The preventive seizure of assets , carried out by the Fiamme Gialle of Monza as delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, concerns 74 thousand of the 600 thousand euros that would have been stolen from the man with various stratagems .
The crime charged for both is aggravated and continued fraud.
THE EVENT - The story emerged a few months ago: Roberto Cazzaniga, 43, was convinced for 15 that he was in a relationship with the supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio . The contact of the alleged Ambrosio, who called herself "Maya Mancini", had been passed to him by a friend: "From that moment on I started hearing her until I fell in love with her".
On the phone, according to the reconstructions, there was the Sardinian woman under investigation . The accent was felt, albeit a little, and in any case it did not suspect it: “It seemed normal to me because he told me he lived in Sardinia”.
The "model", however, after gaining his trust, began making a thousand excuses to steal money from him. Serious health problems, he said. And in 15 years Cazzaniga found himself paying almost 700 thousand euros . All the money he had, and even when he ended up on the street he did not give up and asked for a loan. "I was in love, so much so that for fifteen years I had no other girls: I remained faithful to that person".
When “I asked to see her, to get close to her also to help her, every time there was an excuse: 'It's not possible because I have heart problems, I have to have an operation'. But then there was another problem ”.
In the end the friends, exhausted, asked for help for him by turning to the show “Le Iene”. After the volleyball player's complaint , the Guardia di Finanza has ascertained about 1,400 transactions through which Cazzaniga transferred, between 2008 and 2021, with Postepay top-ups and bank transfers, over 600 thousand euros to the alleged scammers, including the purchase of a car . Of the money sent to the fake model in Cagliari, about 90 thousand euros were transferred to her friend from Brianza in common with the volleyball player, who in turn became a scammer.
