There have been numerous, inevitably, reactions from various Sardinian political exponents following the news that the President of the Region Alessandra Todde has been declared removed from office by the Electoral Guarantee Board.

"I remain a guarantor. However, I hope that Alessandra Todde will do a good soul-searching and evaluate whether her political future or that of Sardinia is more important", the words of the former president of the Region Ugo Cappellacci (FI), now president of the XII Commission for Social Affairs and Health. "I am worried about Sardinia. The irregularities in reporting are very serious: here we are in the presence of amateurs at large . Not even the least of the regional councilors, the so-called candidates for the spirit of service, could have made similar errors . It has a certain effect that those, the 5 Stars, who shouted for transparency now maintain that ultimately these are purely formal acts", he said in an interview with Repubblica.

Among the first to show solidarity with President Todde was the Councilor for Labor Desirè Manca (M5S). "It is the last gasp of those who suddenly find themselves deprived of power and perks. Evidently those who undermine a well-established system of power and control from the foundations are annoying," was her harsh reaction . " We are that pebble that jams the mechanism. Unfortunately for them, the pebble is already turning into a boulder, into a fortress that lies, palace intrigues and imaginative initiatives cannot scratch . The battle has just begun, and we are ready: we are not afraid."

Barbara Manca, Councilor for Transport, shares the same opinion: «I would like to express my full solidarity and closeness to President Todde: her integrity, honesty and dedication to public service are qualities that she has demonstrated in every moment of this legislature, earning the esteem and respect of all of us». Manca is sure that the issue will be resolved: « I have full confidence in the Judiciary, certain that it will do its job to the best of its ability and that the situation will be clarified as soon as possible , allowing the Regional Council to continue its important commitment to the citizens of Sardinia».

On the issue of the forfeiture , the opposition goes on the attack and calls for new elections: « We invite President Alessandra Todde not to underestimate the gravity of the situation and to take a step back, in compliance with the provision of the Regional Guarantee Board, giving the floor back to the voters », the note by Pietro Pittalis , Forza Italia MP and regional secretary of Sardinia. «Persisting in continuing in this role would inevitably lead to the adoption of illegitimate measures, with serious repercussions not only on the correctness of the government's action, but above all on the citizens. Sardinia risks losing time and opportunities».

Aldo Salaris, regional coordinator of the Sardinian Reformers, warns: «Respect for the rules is the basis of democracy, irregularities cannot be ignored. Faced with the very serious situation that sees President Alessandra Todde involved in a case of alleged irregularities in the reporting of electoral expenses, it is essential that full clarity be made». With a request: «It is necessary for the President to report immediately to the Regional Council chamber, not so much to give explanations to the opposition, but out of respect for the Sardinian citizens who have the right to know» .
