Water bomb in southern Sardinia: an 81-year-old died, missing hunters rescued

The man who had been reported missing in Sant'Anna Arresi since this morning was found dead. The 81-year-old got out of his car and was swept away by the water. The car had been recovered upside down.
The victim is Antonio Cinus, from Sant'Anna Arresi.
For hours the SAF specialists of the fire brigade searched for him, patrolling the area together with the Civil Protection, volunteers and carabinieri. They found it lifeless almost on the border with the Capo Teulada polygon.
OTHER EMERGENCIES - In the meantime, the four hunters missing in Sarroch have been tracked down and recovered. Four others who had taken refuge in a tree in Villa San Pietro were also rescued, two others who had been stuck in a car and, finally, about twenty remained isolated in a farmhouse in the Capoterra area.
Other hunters instead preferred not to move from the huts and cottages where they had found refuge, waiting for an improvement in the weather conditions.
A real water bomb that hit in these hours in southern Sardinia. The most affected areas are those of Cagliari. In Pirri several streets have been closed, the mayor of the capital, Paolo Truzzu, has issued an ordinance which orders the closure of the school buildings owned by the Municipality and the Metropolitan City in the Cagliari area.

Due to the flooding of the tracks in the Cagliari station, the railway connection with Decimomannu was suspended. Eight regional trains involved up to 4 pm and guaranteed connections with replacement buses.

In Santadi, a hamlet of “Is Cattas”, along the provincial road 70 it has yielded part of the road surface of the small bridge that connects Santadi with Teulada. Traffic was diverted to secondary roads.
Also closed along the provincial road 18, at kilometer 23 in the countryside of Castiadas, due to a chasm.
SILIQUA - A part of a house in Siliqua collapsed, the residents were evacuated and moved to a makeshift accommodation.
BURCEI - Problems also in Burcei remained without electricity and the municipality has sent a notice to the population in which it emphasizes that intervention has been requested to repair the fault that covers the entire municipality. This is one of the effects of bad weather not only in Cagliari but also in the province. In Muravera, near Cala Pira, the houses ended up under water. The inconvenience and damage to the inhabitants are substantial.
Meanwhile, the weather warning went from yellow to orange starting from early afternoon today and until 11.59 pm tomorrow due to hydrogeological risk; yellow code for hydraulic risk on Iglesiente and Campidano; yellow code for hydrogeological risks in the areas of Montevecchio Pischinappiu, Tirso, Gallura and Logudoro; orange code for hydrogeological risk on Flumendosa-Flumineddu.
