Dozens of protesters from the “No Tyrrhenian Link” movement gathered near the State Road 387, at the entrance to the farm road that leads to the olive grove being dismantled by the police . Then they occupied the State Road, but traffic was blocked for only a few minutes, now people can move freely.

About thirty people arrived at the sit-in, summoned through a tam tam on the chats and forums of the movement. In front of them a large cordon of police forces . The police forces were divided: some remained at the site of the eviction, some at the sit-in, which is located about 600 meters from the garrison .

A protest born from what happened this morning in Selargius, the eviction of the sa Barracca de su Padru garrison against the disputed electricity cable between Sardinia and Sicily . The Police marked off a large perimeter, all accesses were blocked for the clearing of the area and the seizure of material and the activists decided to calmly leave the garrison to avoid tensions. A Terna bulldozer took care of the removal of the trees, while the workers erected a fence . Also on site were Giulia Lai and Michele Zuddas, reference lawyers for the groups and committees against energy speculation.

For months, as is known, a group of activists have been protesting against the expropriations, asking to save the olive trees that grow in the area where the future Terna electrical conversion station should be built.

The police have executed a preventive seizure ordered by Judge Michele Contini at the request of the prosecutor Emanuele Secci, who has opened a file arising from a complaint by Terna regarding the occupation of the land. The crimes contested, prosecutable by the court, are complicity in invasion of land, private violence and damage. About ten people are under investigation , all of whom have appointed Giulia Lai as their defense attorney.
