« We often told them not to go into that ruin. It has been in that state for many years, but it was a tradition. The kids all went into it despite our warnings about the danger they were in ."

Speaking is Sister Sandra, catechist of Patrick and Ethan , the two inseparable friends who lost their lives last night in Nuoro in the collapse of a ruined farmhouse in via Dessanay.

«They both attended the oratory, especially Patrick, while Ethan came less often. They were always together, very lively and friends with each other." This is how the nun remembers them: the two boys, classmates (they were in eighth grade in Biscollai) lived near the parish.

« Patrick was waiting for April 21st, the day he would be confirmed . He was very generous, whatever we asked him to do he did it", continues Sister Sandra. Sister Cristina's voice cracks with emotion: «No one expected an end like this. I saw Patrick on Sunday for Easter. He was always present, every day immediately after school he was here playing with the ball or with anything."
