Massive pulmonary embolism is thought to be the cause of death for Mauro Zuncheddu, the 22-year-old who died a week ago in Tempio Pausania .
The young man, originally from Luras, was hospitalized in the Paolo Dettori Hospital's medical ward for pneumonia and last Monday was struck by a fatal illness . According to reports, the initial results of the autopsy, performed today, confirm the cause of death that emerged immediately after the tragedy.
Forensic doctors Francesco Serra and Andrea Balata will now have to conduct further tests to identify evidence that could establish any criminal liability . The Zuncheddu family's lawyers, Salvatore Deiana and Andrea Maurelli, declined to provide further information pending the conclusion of the expert opinion ordered by prosecutor Milena Aucone. The young man's family also had its own experts, a forensic doctor and an anesthesiologist and resuscitation specialist.
