The lifeless body of Giuseppe Caddia , the 83-year-old pensioner who lived in his country house in the locality of “Is Cotturas” and of whom no news had been received for days, was found this morning.

The discovery took place in the locality of “Funtan'e canna” not far from the state road 197 and the town centre, near a small stream .

It was one of her granddaughters who reported her disappearance a few days ago. Thus, all of San Gavino Monreale is plunged into grief and despair after days filled with worry and hope that Caddia might still be alive.

The retiree previously worked for many years in Piedmont, but also in Latin America and the Arab world. Every day, he would ride his bicycle to the town center, where he would meet friends in the square or sit at tables in the cafés of the historic center. His passing leaves an immense void and an entire community in mourning.
