The countdown for the new San Benedetto market in Cagliari has started. First, however, it is necessary to transfer the 180 dealers to the area of Piazza Nazzari where a temporary structure will be built which will remain in operation for three years, the expected duration for the restructuring of the old market.

The joint municipal commission (Productive Activities and Public Works) met today to define the final details for the implementation of the 38 million euro project. Between March and May of next year, the 180 operators of San Benedetto will be transferred, who will have adequate and compliant space in the temporary structure.

The tender must be awarded by December 2023 . In order not to lose the funding, the tests will have to be completed by 2026. Technicians and assessors assure that everything will be done to alleviate the inconvenience of customers and operators who will be able to use the still closed car parks and those in the Della Musica park. Particular attention also to the needs of external vendors.
