Quartu is once again without water. A new break occurred last night in the main on Via Manara.
Abbanoa technicians intervened and, in order to begin the repair work, had to close the city's reservoir and interrupt the supply to the town.
And citizens are protesting on social media over a water main that's leaking everywhere. This is the third incident in the last 10 days, the second on Via Manara.
"The water network is collapsing and interventions are incapable of guaranteeing continuity and safety of service," reports the city coordination of the Brothers of Italy party.
"Families, schools, businesses, and companies are suffering damage and disruptions that can no longer be dismissed as mere unforeseen events. It is unacceptable that a city like Quartu is left at the mercy of constant outages, without a clear strategy or adequate maintenance of the network. It is essential that Abbanoa and the municipal administration intervene with an immediate, concrete, and verifiable plan capable of preventing further breakdowns and restoring an essential service like water supply," reads a statement from Giorgia Meloni's party.
A few days ago, Mayor Graziano Milia expressed his concerns by telephone to the President of the Abbanoa Board of Directors, Giuseppe Sardu, and requested an urgent meeting to determine the cause of these constant water main breaks.
