We will still have to wait for the official proclamation of the new mayor of Nuoro, Emiliano Fenu. The Electoral Commission, meeting today at the town hall, announced that it will not be possible to conclude the checks by the deadline of 4:00 p.m., due to a significant criticality found in section 34.

The minutes of the section in question present elements that require further investigation, thus preventing the completion of the validation process necessary to proceed with the proclamation . "We will collect the statements of the president of the polling station in the minutes at 3 pm, but the checks will continue tomorrow morning at 9 am", explained the president of the Commission, Mauro Pusceddu, underlining that the conditions for proclaiming the elected mayor do not currently exist.

The problem concerns the formal regularity of the minutes of section 34. Instead, those present in sections 35 (even if already attributed) and 39 have been resolved . Section 34 thus confirms its centrality not only from a procedural point of view, but also for the delicate political balances in the City Council, where the sixth seat of the Democratic Party is at stake to the detriment of the Progressives.

The proclamation of the new mayor, initially expected for today, has therefore been postponed to a date to be defined, pending the conclusion of the checks tomorrow .
