The money is there: one million and 800 thousand euros. The ideas also: were collected through a public consultation which brought out the need for stops near places of interest, a unique style and identity, the use of sustainable materials, art installations, refreshment areas and a mixed public- private. Now for the construction of the navigable channel between Terramaini and La Palma, in Cagliari , two fundamental steps are missing: the drafting of the definitive project and the assignment of the works.

The mayor of the metropolitan city, Paolo Truzzu, arrives to mark the timing: " The suggestions received through the public consultation will be taken into consideration in the preparation of the technical-economic feasibility project, currently in the final definition phase", he announces. while «the definitive project is expected by the end of March. The works will be tendered by the end of July. announces the metropolitan and Cagliari mayor Paolo Truzzu ".

The navigable canal project envisages the enhancement of the waterway from the Terramaini area to the La Palma district of Cagliari, with the construction of 6 stops.

Users have suggested the design of supplementary stops near Ponte Vittorio, Monte Urpinu, Terramaini Park and the football stadium. According to the participants in the consultation, the stops should be equipped with areas for relaxation, refreshment and socializing, toilets, fauna observation points and connections with the cycle-pedestrian network and the parks of Molentargius and Monte Urpinu .

As far as the management method is concerned, the preference of the participants fell on a mixed management model which sees a public management infrastructure integrated with the services offered by private individuals.

"With this project we want to rethink concretely and in an innovative key a part of the mobility of the metropolitan area, offering citizens, tourists and sportsmen a new route that goes from Terramaini to Parco Nervi", explains the metropolitan councilor responsible for planning Umberto Ticca, «The contribution of all those who brought their ideas to the participatory process was very important for the development of the project and represents a positive experience of involving the territory in political choices».
