A 69-year-old retiree was denounced for threatening writings to the mayor Tommaso Locci after the controversy over the ficus trees that should give way to a roundabout.
The mayor of Monserrato thanks the investigators for the investigation carried out in record time. “I don't know this person, I want to comment on his alleged responsibilities. The judges will decide. I'm just saying that it was a story born out of nowhere, a gratuitous and bad act because those written appeared on the wall of my father's house ".
“Anyone can see the project, anyone can deduce that we have no intention of suppressing the five of the ten ficus at the intersection of via Giulio Cesare and via Del redentore”, adds Locci. “More simply, we have planned the construction of a small roundabout to eliminate the current traffic light, an absolutely necessary intervention to streamline traffic, secure roads, eliminate dangers for pedestrians”.
Sui ficus: “We have consulted with an agronomist, they will not be suppressed. At the right time, when the agronomist advises us, they will be recovered and transplanted into a space completely abandoned for many years, in front of the school in via Argentina. Therefore they will not be sacrificed, but transferred ”.
Mayor Locci adds that the project is ready and everyone can check it. “Today this intersection is not only a danger. It also favors the queue of cars with all the consequences for traffic ”.
