After the 16-year- old has been waiting for an operation on his femur for eight days , there is another striking case among the sixteen patients on the waiting list for an operation at the Sirai in Carbonia , who collapsed due to lack of anesthesiologists.

It is that of Rosina, a 91-year-old woman patient of Traumatology (but temporarily hospitalized in Surgery because there was no more room in her ward) hospitalized since January 5 for a fractured femur.

Yesterday the grandchildren, exhausted from waiting, called a private ambulance which transferred the patient to the Brotzu in Cagliari.

"We have reached desperation - Roberta Congiu and her husband Andrea Lai protest - if our grandmother is not operated on in a reasonable time, given her age and the inevitable consequences that a fractured femur entails, she will have no hope of surviving: this is why we have decided to take her away from Sirai.'

The local health authority began to remedy yesterday morning, undergoing surgery on some patients who had been waiting since 21 December. The company itself, directed by the manager Giuliana Campus, let it be known that " just yesterday the results of the selection called in early December were published and which also concerns technicians and orthopedists ".
