"I heard screams coming from the waiting room and went out to see what was happening. A patient was banging his fists on the table in front of the secretary of the doctor's office. I tried to calm him down but he insisted on wanting the prescriptions because we had to wait too long. He was out of control and after an argument he hit me with a very violent fist ."
Roberto Sollai, 59 years old, a general practitioner in Pirri, specialized in sports medicine and with a long series of collaborations with numerous federations , is shaken after the attack he suffered at his workplace, a medical clinic in the area of via Santa Maria Chiara in Cagliari.
"I have a very strong pain in my ear and since my eardrum is perforated, I can't hear well," Sollai continues. "I have been assigned fifty days of treatment and I will have to undergo surgery." Then he adds: " I have never been attacked. Of course, in our work there is no shortage of discussions and moments of tension. But no, I hadn't taken those into account ."
