It's still all the same as a month ago, when the flames engulfed one of the two kiosk bars located in front of the Is Arutas beach, on the Cabras coast. A month after the fire, there are still no workers in action. And who knows if by summer 2025 the structure will be able to welcome the many tourists who will come to the area.

In the meantime, this month many citizens of Cabras and beyond have participated in the fundraiser promoted by some friends of the owner of the structure, Marco Loi. A way to help him with the renovation: «As soon as I get the OK from the fire department, the work can begin», says Loi, «First a cleanup is necessary, then we will proceed with the reconstruction of what has been damaged. I will have to deal with the municipal offices, then the whole issue related to the project, I hope that the bureaucracy will not be long. I will try to understand if there is the possibility of having help from the administration, such as not paying for public land. We are talking about damage of almost one hundred thousand euros».

The fire, which dates back to December 8, started in the kitchen area of the kiosk, and then spread to the space open to the public. The firefighters worked for almost 5 hours. Managing to save the owner himself who was inside. Mayor Andrea Abis: «I also hope that the structure can be reopened as soon as possible», explains Abis, «Both for the owner, but also because it is an important service for the entire coast”
