"Serious delay in the execution of the services" and contract terminated. A mess emerges in the affair of the redevelopment of the operating rooms of the Businco hospital in Cagliari: an operation that ended up at the center of a storm, political and otherwise, in which now the resolution of the general director of Arnas Brotzu, Agnese Foddis, who contests the activity of the design company and terminates the contract, is inserted.

For Gianfranco Angioni, of Usb Sanità, «at Brotzu we are faced with a complete confusional short circuit. Resolution number 1761 of December 20, which cancels the contract with the economic operator for the evaluation of seismic vulnerability, represents a point of no return. This choice confirms and gives reason to our initial concerns: without a clear timetable and an executive project, the transfer of the operating rooms is becoming increasingly unsustainable and unreliable».

The termination of the contract is the result of an unjustified delay of 185 days and was subject to a negative review by the inspectors. "Healthcare workers and patients are experiencing a period of growing anguish, the result of empty promises and misleading communications. Therefore," concludes Angioni, " we have formally requested access to the documents, which we continue to await, underlining the need for greater transparency on the part of the administration."

English: "Learning that the contract has been terminated unfortunately confirms the low consideration given to the suffering of people who experience cancer directly or through their families and confirms the inadequacy of the management of Arnas Brotzu, which should draw the consequences". This is what the representatives of Cittadinanzattiva Tribunale dei Diritti del Malato, Dragon Karalis Pink Team, Fidapa Cagliari, Garante Metropolitano delle persone detainute, Il Giardino di Lu, Komunque Donne, Lega Italiana contro il Tumore, Maipiùsole contro il Tumore, Salute Donna, Sinergia Femminile, Socialismo Diritti Riforme ODV say in a note. "The doubts expressed by patients' associations on several occasions have now an objective confirmation", they add. The work, which should have started on November 15, "didn't even have a definitive project. In short, it was all a joke, a shameful mockery for the patients". In applauding the blocking of the project, as it was conceived, "we cannot avoid expressing", they observe, "a general dismay. A unilateral choice not even supported by an in-depth study has created uncertainty and concern among people affected by cancer. It has caused damage to those who have always placed their trust in the skills of healthcare professionals and has prevented many people in recent months from going to the oncology department for treatment, pushing them instead out of Sardinia. It will be necessary to understand who is responsible for this disastrous period for the health of citizens, what patients are asking for is a new, thoughtful and shared restructuring project".
