For the first time, M'Bala Nzola has been named in Fabio Pisacane's squad. The Angolan striker, signed on the last day of the transfer window, is available for the Rayo Vallecano-Cagliari friendly ( tomorrow at 2:00 PM in Vallecas, Madrid ) and will thus be eligible to make his Rossoblu debut, albeit not yet officially, after a month of training to reach peak condition. This will be a test where the coach will be able to give minutes to those who have so far—for various reasons—little to no appearances, including Yerry Mina, Riccardo Ciervo, Yanis Massolin, and Kevin Carlos, among others under special observation.
Three players from Cagliari's Primavera squad have also joined the squad : Nicola Grandu, captain of Alberto Gallego's Under-20 team; Samuele Piro, a 2008-born midfielder who was on loan to Monastir in Serie D last year; and Alessandro Sugamele, the striker who was previously seen in Serie A against Lecce. Absent from the squad are internationals Alen Sherri (Albania), Adam Obert (Slovakia), Alessandro Romano and Daniel Maldini (Italy), Alieu Fadera (Gambia), Joseph Liteta (Zambia), and Juan Rodríguez (Uruguay), as well as the unavailable Alessandro Deiola, Mattia Felici, Riyad Idrissi, and Yael Trepy.
These are Pisacane's twenty-one players called up for Rayo Vallecano-Cagliari.
