Claudio Ranieri's great return to the Giallorossi came to fruition yesterday, all that was missing was the official announcement that arrived this afternoon. "AS Roma is pleased to announce that Claudio Ranieri is the new Technical Manager of the First Team", the club announced. With a passage already on what will happen after June 30, 2025, when the agreement defined yesterday in London with the Friedkins expires: " At the end of the season he will take on a senior management role . He will be a consultant to the owners for all sporting matters of the club. The search for a new coach will continue in the coming months and Claudio will also have a say in this decision".

"The club extends its best wishes to the coach for this new chapter in his exciting career, certain that he will represent an added value for the team and for all of AS Roma," the statement concludes. Ranieri returns to Roma as a coach for the third time after his experiences in 2009-2010, when he came close to winning Serie A in a duel with Inter, and in 2019 when he acted as a ferryman after the farewell of Eusebio Di Francesco. Just a week ago, he repeated, at the party for the eightieth anniversary of Gigi Riva's birth at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, that his last experience with a club team was the one with the rossoblù that ended in May . But he couldn't say no to Roma, his favorite team.

This afternoon Ranieri will have his first training session at Trigoria , after landing at Fiumicino from London yesterday evening, welcomed by numerous celebrating fans . His new debut will be on Sunday 24 November at 18:00, at the home of league leaders Napoli (the team he coached from 1991 to 1992). He is Roma's third coach of the season, after Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Jurić.
