The Sports Court of Appeal accepted the appeal urgently presented by Verona against the ruling of the sports judge who had imposed the closure for two rounds of the lower sector of the Curva Sud of the Bentegodi, due to racist chants against a Cagliari footballer Mokambou, in race on December 23rd.
The Court of Appeal, the Verona club announced on its website, fully accepted the appeal and annulled the sanction against the club.
The sanction was imposed because the Scala ultras had already been punished for an episode in June: in that case the sentence had been suspended.
Now the new verdict is in favor of the club, even if the sports judge had estimated that the "fans" who had participated in the insults against the rossoblù player were at one thousand (out of 1900 of the curve) .
