"The external look" , the short film by Peter Marcias, will be in competition at the 40th edition of the Turin Film Festival 2022 scheduled from 25 November to 3 December . It will have its world premiere on November 29th.

Written and directed by the director from Oristano , it was shot in Sardinia among the fascinating scenarios of Oristano, in San Salvatore di Sinis, in San Giovanni di Sinis and Bosa , in Sassari in Alghero , in Nuoro in Posada and San Giovanni di Posada, in Gallura on the island of Tavolara, and to the south in Siliqua and Cagliari , in the park of Molentargius-Saline.

Made in collaboration with Ultima Onda Produzioni and Società Umanitaria , it is the culmination of "Journey to Sardinia" , an exhibition project of the Foundation of Sardinia declined over time through visual and visual arts.

The protagonist of the short is a ninety-year- old director who is shooting a documentary focusing on two artists who have left their mark on the island. Thus he starts from the Sardinian portraits of the painter Gaston Vuillier and the shots of the photographer Vittorio Alinari .

"From here, in a dialogue between past and present, to the suggestions evoked by Paolo Ventura 's photographs to restore charm and beauty between itinerant looks and memories in black and white and the colors of the imagination", says Marcias.

The cast of the film includes Elena Cotta , Emilio Puggioni and Daniel Dwerryhouse , the dancer Luca Cappai and the photographer and painter Ventura . Documentary and fiction are intertwined in the film and the presence of Elena Cotta allowed the director from Oristano to work on “moods and suggestions”.
